Arête
de Chêne Pony Club is a branch of the Canadian
Pony Club residing at High Pointe. We who are active in
Pony Club find that many people, even in the horse world,
are unfamiliar with this international organization. On
November 1st, 1929, the Institute of the Horse in Great
Britain inaugurated a Junior Branch of their organization,
known as "The Pony Club", for the purpose of interesting
young people in riding and sport and at the same time offering
the opportunity of higher instruction in this direction
than many of them can obtain individually. This objective
is still the driving force in Pony Club. The term "pony"
refers to the young riders and not to the size of the horse.
Our members ride all sizes of horses and ponies. The remarkable
success of The Pony Club in Britain sparked interest for
the establishment of Pony Clubs world wide. That interest
is now represented in no less than 20 countries and has
a membership exceeding 100,000.
Arête
de Chêne Pony Club has members ranging in age from
7 to 17. We are a very active group with a good supportive
group of parents and enthusiastic members.
The Saddle Club. High Pointe Saddle club
is a not for profit, community-based, family-oriented organization
comprised of members and volunteers that are dedicated to
education and skill development in all disciplines pertaining
to equine activities. The group helps to support the various
shows, gymkhanas, drill teams, trail rides, clinics and
more.
